As if to encourage women to fall in love with their natural texture, the hair at Bottega Veneta’s spring 2014 presentation was pointing towards a nonchalant kind of beauty. Equal parts fresh and sophisticated, the style envisioned by Redken creative consultant Guido, used as foundation the naturalness defining spring 2014′s hair trends. Easy to recreate and pushing for ease, this style is perfect for the woman on the go.
Either you plan to sport the effortless locks with an equally minimal look, or you plan on using it to add a little bit of contrast to an otherwise highly detailed outfit, find the steps to emulate the style, after the break.
How to: Bottega Veneta’s natural, textured hair.
Begin with your usual routine of washing and conditioning the hair, trying to incorporate both a shampoo and a conditioner that promise to add softness to the texture of your hair. Guido Palau of Redken used the All Soft Shampoo and All Soft Conditioner.
On your damp hair, apply a leave-in treatment to protect and smooth the hair, and proceed to blow dry it until is roughly 80% dry. Backstage at Bottega Veneta, Guido used Redken’s Extreme Anti-Snap Leave-In Treatment.
Concentrating on the mid-lengths and ends, apply an oil treatment to further provide your hair with concentrated softness and lasting suppleness, allowing the remaining moisture to dry naturally. Reapply the oil treatment to eliminate stubborn frizz. Guido used Redken’s All Soft Argan-6 Oil on models hair.
To enhance the full-bodied texture of your hair, choose a hair powder or a dry shampoo and apply it on your dry hair, concentrating once again on the mid-lengths and ends. The Powder Refresh 01 Aerosol Hair Powder/Dry Shampoo by Redken was used at Bottega Veneta.
Next, proceed in adding a slightly messy off-center part to your look. To increase the movement to the ends of your hair, create a gentle bend using a 1″ curling iron on select pieces of hair.
Finish of the look by reapplying the dry shampoo, or hair powder on your hair, from the mid-lengths to ends and you’re all set.
