How to get Versace’s supermodel side part

Who doesn’t love a good blow out? Blowing out your hair and leaving it down is simply sexy and assures you of a good hair day. Redken creative consultant Guido Palau took that blow dried look and added a little something for the Versace fall 2013 show in Milan. That little something is a voluminous side part that is a fall 2013 hairstyle he describes as “a boyish approach to feminine hair”.

We all know what a Versace woman is: strong, feminine, sexy and gorgeous. This season, the collection featured edgier details hence Guido’s “combed up- structured” side part with the blow out that’s straight. This is simple yet ingenious way to add some rock n’ roll to any outfit and we have the how-to right here. Read on after the break to get the steps.

How to: Versace’s voluminous side part

Prep your damp hair with Redken’s Satinwear 02. This will protect your hair when your blow-dry it.
This look doesn’t go with the big blow out so simply blow-dry your hair straight with a large round brush.

Now it’s time to create the side part. Take a tail comb and create the part on the left. Then take the left side of your hair and tuck it behind your ear. Set it in place with a clip.
Take some Redken Hardware super strong get and apply it on your hair along your forehead and along the part. This will help you create that structured part of your hair.

Comb the right section of your hair up and back to create the voluminous side part.

Finish the look off by taking the clip out and then setting your hairstyle. Do this by spraying on some hairspray (at Versace, Redken Forceful 23 was used) to a comb and then using that to comb over the structured side part again. Use this to also keep fly-aways away in the rest of the hairstyle.

Simple yet stunning, this look is perfect if you just want to add some extra x-factor to your look. Versace went all out on the studs, spikes and patent leather for their collection, so you know this look will work with some punk accessories… but it’s also a very glamorous, sleek look with a bit of a ’90s supermodel vibe that will work just as a well with a little black dress or day ensemble.
