How to get Zambesi’s manga-inspired mens hairstyle

Leave it to a Japanese manga inspired hairstyle to leave a lasting impressions. Zambesi was one of the many brands who showcase their latest collection at Australian Fashion Week and as the clothes caught attention so did the hairstyles.

Slicked, quirky and modern describe the men’s hairstyle that Redken Hair Director Richard Kavanagh created for the Zambesi spring 2013 show. It’s a look that despite being really polished remains utilitarian: like the slick central character of a graphic novel. This 2013 hairstyle is a good mix of elegant and hip making it an ideal look for those who are on the adventurous side. Read on after the break to get the complete how to.

How to: Zambesi’s manga-inspired mens hairstyle

Start by washing your hair with Redken Clean Brew extra cleansing shampoo for a fresh feel and dry the hair so it’s mostly dry using a hair dryer.
Create a deep, low side part and brush a small amount of Redken For Men Stand Tough extreme gel through both sides of the part, adding more if necessary.

Next, sweep hair firmly across the top of the head at the front from the pa rt to create a cowlick-type look at the front – leave this side slightly disheveled by tousling with finger tips to create the wave. Brush the other side down slick to the head.
On a low setting, slightly blow dry the hair on each side of the part, keeping the heat blowing in the same direction of the hair.
Finish with Redken Control Addict 28 extra-high hold hairspray for hold and shine.

While experimenting with hairstyles can seem terrifying, it’s always a good idea to try something new. You might be surprised on how a change in hairstyle can change your look.
