How to: Moschino’s half-up bouffant

The 1960s themselves may be long gone but sixties fashion continues to inspire. One brand who took cues from this very dynamic decade was Moschino for their spring / summer 2013 collection, and to get the right hairstyle for the show, they teamed up with Pantene Pro-V’s Sam McKnight. The result of this collaboration is a gorgeous half-up bouffant.

Nothing says ’60s hair more than a bouffant and it’s only right that they did a variation of it for the Moschino show that fit with both the collection and 2013′s hair trends. Just like the clothes of the collection, the half up bouffant was big, bold and fun: undeniably retro and swinging sixties inspired. Despite the height and the volume, this hairstyle is easily done in a few steps and we’ve got the how to right after the break.

How to: Moschino half up bouffant

Before anything else, shampoo and condition your hair. For the Moschino show, Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Volume & Body Shampoo and Conditioner was used. This gives you the perfect base to start with.

If you have damaged hair, protect your hair with Pantene Pro-V Instant Damage Defence Conditioning Spray. Spray the product to the ends of your hair.

To give your hair the bouffant volume, take some mousse like Pantene Pro-V Classic Care Mousse and apply it to the lengths of your hair. Brush your hair to spread the product through.
Now it’s time to dry your hair. Do this roughly with your hands and a blow dryer.
Take a curling iron and curl sections of your hair. Pin these sections up to cool and set.
To create the bouffant, you will need hairspray (for this hairstyle Pantene Pro-V Classic Care Hairspray was used). On the top section of your hair, section it and spray on some hairspray. Then backcomb your hair a couple of inches from the roots to the nape to get that beehive shape.

Next, smooth the section over and pin it in the back.

Finish the look off by gently brushing the ends for a fanned out look and then secure the hairstyle by spraying on hairspray.
